It's Thanksgiving and I wanted to wish everyone a happy holiday. I will keep this short, as there is no way I could begin to list all of the blessings which I enjoy and for which I am so grateful each day. But I will say that list of blessings includes living here in the beautiful environs of Central Pennsylvania and all that that entails. We all have our spiritual places and, speaking for myself, I rarely feel more connected, contemplative, or grateful for all I have than when I am among some remote woodland or stream. During those times I feel I can revert to an earlier time when life was simpler, when we lived more in the moment and understood that we are a part of nature and not separate from it. And when I am in that frame of mind I can not help but feel the strongest gratitude for the great privilege of just being there for that time.
A little further down on my list of things for which I am grateful is the CPWMC. The club is a great educational resource and a means to share our joy and fascination with the fungal world. I would like to say thanks to the founding officers for their efforts in making the club a success, our experts who so generously share their knowledge and experience, and to all fellow members for their curiosity, generosity, and friendship. Thank you all.
